It is the umbrella over every home service we offer, with specialty services available as add-ons: the full home inspection, buyer's and pre-listing reviews, radon, sewer scope, thermal imaging, mold and moisture, foundation, roof, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, new-construction and 11-month-warranty work, well-water testing and older-home evaluations — one trusted, buyer-side read on a Minnesota house, photo-mapped and delivered within 24 hours.

Local housing

Homes in Rogers.

Rogers housing runs to 2000s subdivisions with continuing new construction, across the newer subdivisions along the I-94 corridor, on rolling till — and that mix shapes what a residential inspection here needs to find.

Local conditions in Rogers

After Interstate 94 came through in 1972, Rogers grew from 698 residents in 1990 to 13,295 in 2020, and annexed Hassan Township in 2012, so most of its 4,638 housing units are recent construction. For homes of that age, grading and drainage, roof and attic ventilation, window and door flashing, mechanical systems and the quality of finish work are worth checking. With the Crow River on the city's western edge, we also note low spots and sump setups that affect basement moisture.

Questions

Common questions.

What counts as a residential inspection?
Any owner-occupied or rental dwelling — single-family homes, townhomes, condos, duplexes and small multi-family up to four units. The full home inspection is the core, and radon, sewer scope, thermal imaging and the rest are available as add-ons when the property calls for them.
Is residential really most of your work?
Yes — roughly 95 percent of Closer Look inspections are residential. It is what we are built around, from century-old capital-city homes to brand-new metro subdivisions.
Which services can be added to a residential inspection?
Any of them: full home, buyer's, pre-listing, radon, sewer scope, thermal imaging, mold and moisture, foundation, roof, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, new-construction, 11-month warranty, well-water and older-home inspections. Specialty services are available as add-ons.
What do inspectors usually find in a 2005-era Rogers subdivision home?
Common findings are grading that has settled, downspouts that discharge at the foundation, thin or uneven attic insulation, gaps at exterior flashing, minor plumbing leaks under sinks, and deck fasteners or ledger connections that need attention. None are unusual for a home this age. The point of the inspection is to separate simple maintenance from items that affect the offer, and to check the roof, the furnace and the water heater.
Is hail damage a real concern in Rogers?
It is worth checking. This northwest corridor has taken repeated hail, and much of the housing still carries original 2000s-era shingles. We read the roof for bruising and granule loss and tell you plainly whether it's storm damage or ordinary wear.
